Opscompass Release: Oracle Entitlements AI Extraction & vSphere Updates

Opscompass adds AI-based Oracle entitlement extraction, OpenSUSE 16 support, vSphere improvements, and key bug fixes.

New Features

Oracle Entitlements Data Extraction
Users can now automatically extract their Oracle entitlements from documents within Opscompass
using our new AI feature. After uploading files to their Oracle Supporting Documents, select one or more
documents, and click on the “Extract and review product entitlements” button, signified by the sparkle
icon.

This will start an analysis of the documents. If entitlements are present, Opscompass will extract and
present them to customers in a table for further review. Supported file types include *.pdf, *.jpg, *.jpeg,
*.png, *.txt, *.csv, and *.docx. The document viewer will currently not display MS-Office based files but
will present an option to download to view.

After confirming the data, the entitlements will be added to your report.

Data Gathering

In the continuing efforts to replace OpsCompass with Opscompass, we found a few references to clean
up. Also, Microsoft changed the recommended method for installing mssql-tools in version 9 of RedHat
and similar flavors, including Oracle and Amazon Linux. And finally, we added support for OpenSUSE 16.

  • Installer fixes for base-scripts
  • OpsCompass to Opscompass for the following
    o Module msql-compliance
    o Module msql-license
    o Module vsphere

Bug Fixes/Improvements

  • Opscompass CLI fixes an unhandled exception if ~/.opscompass/ does not exist
  • We fixed a problem processing vsphere data gathering files when a VM changes hosts
  • We made improvements to vsphere resource relationships
